Because I am in love with the glamorous and provocative pin ups of the past (and present) I could not pass up this DVD once I stumbled upon it on one of my many late night Amazon.com searches. With it's promises of hair, make up, and posing tutorials all delivered to you by two beautiful modern cheesecake gals, Bettina May and Go-go Amy, it seemed like the perfect buy for me. This DVD tutorial delivered on it's promises...sort of. I very much enjoyed the real time application of the make-up and rollers, although many reviewers complained that it bored them to tears I feel it offered me a truly comprehensive view into what it really takes to apply pin up make up and achieve retro hairstyles, no time lapses or sped up scenes that often skip important steps or information.
I would have given this DVD all five stars if Bettina May and Go-go Amy would have provided information on what products were used in both the make up and hair tutorials, where to find pin-up clothing online (including the various outfits they wore throughout this film), and how to find photographers who specialize in pin-up photography. Albeit the fact that this is easy enough information to find online with a quick Google search, these are things I would have expected to find in a DVD about BEING a pin-up model (especially that last bit).
